Haiku of the Week September 2022

Autumn definitely nibbling ’round the edges…

The paths paved with gold,
the silence punctuated
with dropping beech-nuts.

Finally had rain the other night…

Re-finding its voice,
the river roars the old songs
it nearly forgot.

(23/09/22)

************************************

Perfectly calm, big moon…

Shimmering sea streams
flow behind night-blackened pines
silvered by moonlight.

(16/09/22)

************************************

A wild day on the hill…

Raven slips sideways
Wind whisks heather scent westwards
Raven slides back in

Finally, after that long, long summer…

A slow rain begins,
Insidious whisperings:
the end of Summer?
