June 2018

Be-dew-elled alchemillia…

Globes of quicksilver
jewel this Lady’s mantle.
Waiting to turn gold.

A wonderful year for flowers, everything’s bursting out…

Foxgloves crowd the roads,
leaning forward eagerly.
Cheering all who pass.

A break in the glorious weather, strong winds and rain…

Hum-drum of rain
Boring into consciousness!
Drilling through light-dreams.

Belatedly, a mass of flowers – and bees…

Bumble bees chuckling,
all delighted with themselves,
deep in flower bells.

Finally, after weary, wet months, longed-for sunshine…

Celebrating sun,
a breeze surfs on waves of grass;
Yellow flags flutter.
