Mist laps at the hedge.

Some big winds have really brought Autumn roaring in, whipping leaves off branches and giving a battered, bare look to the place. A long drive home yesterday in mists and gales and flurries of leaves.<\/em><\/p>\n Autumn homecoming<\/p>\n Autumn greets us home, (19\/10\/09)<\/p>\n **************************<\/p>\n October has continued, pretty much as September left off: sunny days, warm evenings and that beautiful low, Autumnal light. Even the rain that does appear doesn’t last.<\/em><\/p>\n October day<\/p>\n The forecast was right: ***<\/p>\n The clouds trail away. \ngold leaves swirl all around us,
\ntickertape welcome.<\/p>\n
\nRain Band clearing off, eastwards,
\nsunshine in its wake.<\/p>\n
\nWatery sun throws shadows
\nto soak up the rain.<\/p>\n
\npulling through porridge-thick air
\nthe only new sound.<\/p>\n
\nThis morning, I went out up the hill in a light misting which dried out and the sun came out. It was gorgeous. I walked along rough trails in a forestry area, cleared two years ago, so, covered with flowers and full of bird song.<\/em><\/p>\n
\nrippling ringed convulsions,
\nflies in their brown eyes.<\/p>\n
\nmetallic, megaphone voice:
\nraven’s muzzein call.<\/p>\n
