{"id":608,"date":"2012-03-03T18:26:12","date_gmt":"2012-03-03T18:26:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paulocolmain.com\/?page_id=608"},"modified":"2012-03-03T18:26:12","modified_gmt":"2012-03-03T18:26:12","slug":"flying-by-the-seat-of-our-pants","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/paulocolmain.com\/?page_id=608","title":{"rendered":"Flying by the seat of our pants!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Flying by the Seat of our pants!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well, the trials of life are many &#8211; the tribulations too,<br \/>\ntroubles, ten-a-penny, compensations, pretty few:<br \/>\nit\u2019s survival of the fittest and I don\u2019t think that I fit in that category.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s like a jungle out there and I\u2019m no David Attenborough!<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s all mobile phones and e-mails, microwave and fax,<br \/>\ndisenchanted, disenfranchised Generation X.<br \/>\nWe\u2019ve built a new Tower of Babel from the ruins of the old<br \/>\nAnd you\u2019ve got to speak the language, you\u2019ve got to understand the code.<\/p>\n<p>Well, something\u2019s got to happen and it\u2019s got to happen soon,<br \/>\nWe can split the atom,we can put men on the moon<br \/>\nBut we haven\u2019t made much progress, haven\u2019t made much advance<br \/>\nFor all our mumbo-jumbo we\u2019re still flying by the seat of our pants!<\/p>\n<p>Now, the history of Humankind has developed stage by stage:<br \/>\nThe Greek and Roman high-points; the Irish Golden Age;<br \/>\nthe Age of Enlightenment; the glory of the Renaissance.<br \/>\nNow what have we to offer? The Age of the Boy Bands!<\/p>\n<p>We used to hang on every word of our bishop, priest and pope,<br \/>\nnow it seems that everybody worships every soap,<br \/>\nT.V. never was too highbrow but now it\u2019s completely dumbing down:<br \/>\nwe used to fear Big Brother watching us &#8211; now it\u2019s the other way around!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Flying by the Seat of our pants!
