{"id":586,"date":"2012-03-03T18:11:33","date_gmt":"2012-03-03T18:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paulocolmain.com\/?page_id=586"},"modified":"2012-03-03T18:11:33","modified_gmt":"2012-03-03T18:11:33","slug":"any-other-way","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/paulocolmain.com\/?page_id=586","title":{"rendered":"Any other way"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Any Other Way<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well, I was talking to the Taoiseach about politics<br \/>\nand about the power he has at his command.<br \/>\nAnd I asked him what he thought about Democracy<br \/>\nand if he thought we should introduce it to this land.<br \/>\nHe said,\u201dit\u2019s my government\u2019s aim to end all class disparity,<br \/>\nto close the gap and this source of social tensions.<br \/>\nYou must excuse me now, the affairs of State await me<br \/>\n&#8211; and it\u2019\u2019s the day I draw my ministerial pensions!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But I wouldn\u2019t have it any other way.<br \/>\nWe have a vote and the People have their Say.<br \/>\nThe static status quo is here to stay<br \/>\nAnd I wouldn\u2019t have it any other way!<\/p>\n<p>Well, I was chatting with the bishop up at the Episcopal Palace.<br \/>\nI kissed his ring and he offered a cigar.<br \/>\nHe said,\u201dyes, of course, we\u2019re most\u00a0 concerned about Poverty<br \/>\n&#8211; oh, and DO help yourself to some more of that caviar!<br \/>\nYou see, we must the role that God has given us,<br \/>\nfor the Bible says to turn the other cheek.<br \/>\nSo, forget about that Liberation Theology crap,<br \/>\nas someone once said,\u2019how blessed are the meek\u2019!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And I wouldn\u2019t have it any other way.<br \/>\nThe static status quo is here to stay.<br \/>\n\u2018Cause when you\u2019ve got nothing left you\u2019ve GOT to pray.<br \/>\nAnd I wouldn\u2019t have it any other way!<\/p>\n<p>Well, our savage indignation rises righteously.<br \/>\nWe feel the tight knot of anger in our throat.<br \/>\nBut then we don\u2019t do another damn thing about it!<br \/>\nWell, we wouldn\u2019t really like to rock the boat!<\/p>\n<p>So we\u2019ll never have it any other way.<br \/>\nThat static status quo is here to stay.<br \/>\nWe\u2019ll just talk and talk and talk our lives away.<br \/>\nAnd we\u2019ll never have it any other way!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Any Other Way Well, I was talking to the Taoiseach about politics and about the power he has at his command.
