A rainy day

A Rainy Day

The day is cold and dark and dreary,
It rains, the wind is never weary,
But with every gust the dead leaves fall
And the day is dark and dreary.

My life is cold and dark and dreary,
It rains, the wind is never weary,
My thoughts still cling to mouldering past
And the hopes of my youth fall thick and fast
And the day is dark and dreary.

Be still, sad heart,
And cease repining!
Behind the clouds,
The sun is shining.
Thy fate is the common fate of all,
And into each life some rain must fall
And the day is dark and dreary.

The day is cold and dark and dreary,
It rains, the wind is never weary,
But with every gust the dead leaves fall
And the day is dark and dreary.

(Henry Wadsworth Longfellow)
