July 2014

Magical days on the bog….

Bog pools give back sky.
Larks soar high in sound and space,
making the air thrill.

A real butterfly Summer….

Fritillaries flit
amongst dancing grasses.
Wild pea climbs to see.

Occasional rain, some torrential, some gentle…

Umbrellas are out.
Brought on by a light surein.
Sudden blossoming.

On the Clare Island ferry…

The Island dissolves.
Translucent wake curves to mist.
Gulls shear the slipstream.

Full Summer in West Cork…

Small, dappled meadows,
luxuriant with green life.
And butterfly swarms.
